Come Home began with 2 sisters Monique and Sophia - who were adopted by a Canadian family in 1974 and estranged from their beloved family of origin and homeland. Twenty years later the sister would reunite with their family and ultimately begin to weave the threads of connection between families, countries, heartache and triumph. With a deep reverence for their adoptive parents for providing them with a foundation and unconditional love and stability, the sisters felt guided by a divine force to COME HOME to Ecuador and ultimately - to themselves.
Monique and Sophia trekked the Imbabura mountain terrane in Ecuador, with Nancy - beloved sister, guide, and translator, in search of the Artisans that needed COME HOME as much as COME HOME needed them. Grace bestowed Rolando and Anita; master weavers, who use Alpaca and sheep wool blends for all their creations.
Honouring ancient Ecuadorian traditions and artisans COME HOME appreciates the natural elements, rich colours and simple aesthetic of Ecuador's textiles and design.
